When Is The Right Time To Open My Pool?

Once the weather starts to warm up, it can be difficult to force yourself to hold off on opening up the swimming pool at your house. But before you go ahead and open your pool, you need to make sure you keep in mind a number of considerations. If you neglect these considerations, you might not only end up spending lots of extra money on your pool, but might also end up stuck without your pool at all for a while!

Of course, the biggest consideration of all is weather – after all, a few hours of hot weather in the afternoon does not necessarily mean it is hot enough to start swimming! You will end up spending lots of extra money if you go ahead and open your pool when there are only a couple hours each day that truly feel like “swimming weather.” Firstly, you will be stuck spending extra money on heating the pool, and secondly, you will be spending extra money just to run the pool, as it is unlikely that anyone will actually feel like swimming!

You should also do some research and make sure you are aware of any unusual elements in your area that might make it a better idea to wait on opening the pool. For instance, you might have tree worms in the trees around your house that drop down from the trees in the early spring; if this is the case, you will not want your pool open. If your pool is open, these worms will crawl right into it, and it will become very difficult for you to keep the levels of your pool in balance after that.

You will also need to make sure it is the right time for you to truly “open” the pool, even after you have started preparing the pool. If you put in all the hard work to prepare the water properly, only for it to get messed up by people swimming too early, it will be extremely frustrating. Before you take the cover off the pool and allow people to start swimming, make sure the water is fully stable and ready to go.

Your pool can be a wonderful treat for you and your family if you make sure you wait until the right time to open it. But at the same time, open your pool too early and you will find that it is a major headache – one that is not at all worth the effort.
