Dealing With A Neighbor Who Does Not Mow Their Lawn

If you live in even a decently-nice neighborhood, it is generally an unwritten rule of the neighborhood that everyone makes sure their lawn looks presentable. After all, the way things in the neighborhood look can have a big impact on the value of the homes, and things can certainly look poor with a shabby, overgrown lawn. And what’s more, it can be downright annoying to always be stuck looking at a particular lawn that is in horrible shape! And so the question becomes, what is the best, most effective approach for getting your neighbor to mow their lawn?

One of the first things for you to make sure you know is this: do the residents of the house own it or rent it? Rental homes are far more likely to end up with lawns that are severely overgrown; at the same time, however, rental homes are easier to solve the problem with as well. Generally speaking, you can get the owner of the house to take care of this problem; get in touch with them and let them know that the lawn of their rental house is usually overgrown, and they will exert pressure. This will solve the problem quickly and effectively, as it will be the landlord telling them to mow, instead of a neighbor asking.

If, on the other hand, the people who live in the house own it, you should pay attention to the condition of the rest of their house. The solution will often be as simple as just asking them, if they keep the rest of their house in good condition. If, on the other hand, the people who live in the house seem to neglect all aspects of their home, you might find that you are stuck mowing their lawn yourself! Either that, or (if you hire someone to mow your lawn) pay someone to go over and mow your neighbor’s lawn! Usually, you will find that they start taking better care of their lawn after you have mowed it for them one time!

Especially if you are trying to sell your house, these tips are important to keep in mind; you will have a much easier time selling your house if all the houses around it look great!
