Three Places To See When You Visit Boston

Boston is a city that is packed full of history; it is also one of the oldest cities in America! While people visit Boston for all sorts of different reasons, many feel that they arrive with less time than they would like. Perhaps they are visiting on business, and therefore have less time than they would like. Or, perhaps their trip to Boston has been for a conference, or for a tour of a few Boston colleges. Whatever the case, it can be annoying to visit a historic city, but to feel as though you don’t have time to see everything you would like to see, or that you don’t even know where to begin. If you visit Boston on limited time, or if you visit Boston and simply want to know where to begin, this article will help you on your way.

Any visit to Boston’s sites should begin in the Back Bay. In this area you will find a lot of the city’s great landmarks as well as some great sightseeing opportunities. For Boston’s boutique shops and upscale shopping, you should plan to make a visit to Newbury Street. Even if you are not planning to spend much money, or even if you are not particularly keen on shopping, Newbury Street is a great way to experience the life of the city.

Just a short distance from Newbury Street is the tallest building in Boston, the John Hancock Tower. If you visit the John Hancock Tower, you can go all the way to the top, where you are afforded a breathtaking panorama of the city and its surrounding areas. This area also has a tremendous Revolutionary War display, as well as a number of other displays that help you better experience and understand the history of the city.

One of the most beautiful areas of Boston is the Boston Public Garden. This is the best place to go to escape the hustle and bustle of city life – a lush, gorgeous jewel of perfect greenery in the middle of Boston. You can relax on a bench beside the water, feed the squirrels, or even ride on the swan boats, all while you enjoy the peace and quiet.

While most people who visit Boston wish they could stay longer than they are able (even if they are fortunate enough to have a long trip planned!), these three places alone will help you to feel like you have had a truly productive visit.
